Where do you work for Aspire?
I am a part time Accountant based at Humphrey Booth Resource Centre. I am new to Aspire and only started working here at the beginning of August. I am settling in really well, the team is great and very welcoming, I already feel like I am part of a great Aspire team.
Why did you apply for the role?
To be in this role is fulfilling, knowing my work supports the care and well-being of vulnerable individuals. I believe that my expertise in financial management can help ensure Aspire deliver on its vision, by ensuring resources are allocated efficiently, enabling the provision of high-quality excellent people centred care and support. I’m excited about the opportunity to work in a unique and challenging environment where I can develop my skills and expertise while learning about the social care sector. It’s a new sector for me, everyday it’s a unique moment for learning.
What are you looking forward to in your new role?
I’m looking forward to building strong relationships with colleagues, providing financial guidance and support where needed. I am also looking forward to identifying opportunities to reduce costs, enhance efficiency, and improve Aspire’s overall financial performance. I am excited to be contributing to Aspire’s mission and values of providing extraordinary support for exceptional people.
A little bit about your career background?
I am a CIMA qualified accountant (ACMA, CGMA) with over 15 years of extensive experience in financial reporting, budget management, and strategic financial analysis. My career spans across diverse sectors, including financial services, mine drilling and stock exchange operations..
Most recently, I’ve been working as the Group Financial Accountant at Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (‘’ZSE’’), focusing on financial reporting, budget monitoring, and compliance. Throughout my career, I’ve developed expertise in financial reporting, financial modeling and financial analysis.
I’m passionate about staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and I’m committed to delivering high-quality financial expertise to support informed decision-making.
What is life like outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends nurturing relationships and creating memories. I live with my partner Yevai and blessed with three kids, Jerome, Malachi and a girl Milena. I am a soccer fanatic and enjoy watching my favourite club Liverpool. To stay fit and active I enjoy a taking long walks and mountain hiking. I enjoy traveling and exploring new places to broaden my horizons and gain new experiences. I also enjoy quiet moments of reflection, meditation, or journaling to recharge and refocus.
