Where do you work for Aspire?

I am the new Interim Service Development Director at Aspire, my office is situated in the Humphrey Booth Resource Hub, next to the finance offices. I only started working here on the 5th June and these first three weeks have been a whirlwind. I have visited most services across Aspire and met some amazing staff, it is clear from what I have seen so far, the people working at Aspire are proud of what they do and truly care about the services being delivered.

What do you do as part of your job role on an average day?

The whole purpose of the new post is to look at how Aspire can grow and develop its services and expand into the communities we serve. I will be looking at what we already do well and identifying gaps in services in the communities of Salford, seeing how we can fit the gaps to deliver integrated care and support services. With a future aspiration to be the provider of choice in Salford delivering a suite of services that follow and adapt to the customers needs and their care and support journey.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I have been made to feel extremely welcome and I look forward to coming to work, working in a nice environment is extremely important to me.  I am enjoying getting an understanding of the services being delivered and meeting the people supported, every person supported that I have met have told me how much they enjoy accessing the support on offer. There are many smiling faces that evidence Aspire are doing a great job.

What is life like outside of work?

I live at home in Bury, with my husband and dogs Teddy & Boo. My girls are 25 and 33 and have both left home now, the house was so quiet after they left that we decided to replace the peace and quiet with the madness of two puppies!! Outside of work, I volunteer as a trustee at two local charities supporting victims of domestic abuse, WHAG & Soul Sisters both based in Rochdale. In my spare time I just love the outdoors, walking with the dogs, sitting out in the garden, reading, and eating out being one of my favourite pastimes.
