Where do you work for Aspire?
I work as part of the Supported Living Management team, as an Assistant Manager and manage two supported living tenancies. We support people to live independently, as a tenant in their own right, with as little or as much support they need in a safe, welcoming environment.
I previously worked as a Level 2 Support Worker at Aspire, when an opportunity arose for an Assistant Manager secondment role. I decided to apply, and I am glad to say I was successful. I want to make the most of this opportunity, to learn new skills and gain experience in this role.
What do you do as part of your job role on an average day?
There is no average day as an Assistant Manager, every day is completely different! It is a busy, fast-paced role, but I love it! I enjoy problem solving, completing rotas, conducting supervisions, spending time with the people we support and much more!
What do you enjoy most about role?
There are many things I enjoy about my new role, but I especially enjoy interacting and problem solving with my staff team and getting to know the people we support.
What is life like outside of work?
Outside of work, I love family time! I live with my two boys Ellis and Leighton and our dog that we all absolutely adore. On weekends, we spent a lot of time going for dog walks with our family and friends, it is great because we all enjoy spending time in the outdoors! I also enjoy exercising; this is my way to ‘escape.’
