Hi, I am Philip.
Some people think that people with learning disabilities can’t become actors or performers. Well, I have busted that myth!
Before attending the loud and proud theatre group, I was quite shy and lacked in confidence however since attending the weekly group, I have made lots of friends and I am much more confident, I love signing, acting, performing and being on stage. I have recently just bagged the lead role in Romeo and Juliet, and I will start rehearsals with the loud and proud theatre very soon, I cannot wait.
I attend Brierley Community Hub twice a week, and enjoy taking part in all their activities. I have recently enjoyed taking part in the sign-along group. In May, we celebrated the King’s Coronation, I played King Charles and signed the National Anthem. I must admit, I was a little nervous but with the support and encouragement from Hayley, I smashed it!
My aspiration is to be perform and play the main act, of Michael Jackson.
