Aspire Care and Support Wins Prestigious Heart of Salford Award

Aspire for Intelligent Care and Support is proud to announce that it has been named VCSE Organisation of the Year (Large), alongside Salford Lads and Girls Club, at the Heart of Salford Awards, hosted by Salford CVS .
This award recognises outstanding voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Salford making a tangible difference in their local area. Aspire was honoured for its exceptional work across Salford, supporting people living with dementia, learning disabilities, or complex health needs to live their lives, their way.
Established in 2015 as a community interest company (CIC), Aspire operates across Salford and provides a wide range of services, including day support opportunities, respite short breaks, and supported living, all tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
“At Aspire, we put people at the heart of everything we do,” said CEO Lisa Dickinson. “This award is a powerful recognition of the dedication, compassion, and innovation our team brings every day to improve the lives of the people we support. We’re incredibly proud to be part of a vibrant VCSE community in Salford that drives real, meaningful change.”
The Heart of Salford Awards is Salford’s bi-annual celebration of the incredible contributions made by volunteers and VCSE organisations across the city. It highlights the powerful role local groups play in building resilient communities and improving the lives of Salford residents.
CEO Lisa Dickinson was also awarded an ‘Outstanding Contribution’ award. This specialist award recognises the hard work, dedication, and passion of outstanding members of the VCSE sector for the city of Salford and its people. Lisa said, ‘I was surprised and delighted to receive the award, alongside my role as CEO at Aspire, it has been my pleasure and privilege to work with Salford CVS and other leaders to represent the whole of our sector, which I believe is truly the beating heart of Salford communities.’
Volunteer Greg Hayhurst was also shortlisted for the Volunteer of the Year Award, having been nominated by colleagues for his enthusiasm, positivity, and excellent work ethic, which he puts into his role. “Greg is a joy to be around, he always has a smile on his face and is a real helping hand to our catering teams. A true winner in our eyes.’ Said Heather Yates, Volunteer and Activities Team Leader at Aspire.
The Heart of Salford Awards follows their success at the recent Spirit of Salford Awards, where Aspire Support Worker Steve Hayles was awarded Public Servant of the Year, and the Aspire Horticultural Activity Team was also shortlisted for the Health Innovation Project award.
