Hi,
I’m Johnnie, the new Catering Manager. You will usually find me at St George’s Community Hub, but I will also be spending time at our other community hubs and respite facilities too.
I have a background in catering for the elderly and people with learning disabilities, as well as in education. When I found Aspire and researched the company, I felt my experience and knowledge could bring fresh ideas. I am excited to work with the team, introduce new ideas and contribute to the growth of the business and our team members.
I’ve spent 25 years in the contract catering industry in London, then moved into education catering.
I relocated to my hometown of Manchester five years ago and have since been involved in retail contract catering and care catering. During lockdown, I started a “Sunday Roast Company”, delivering meals to the Ancoats community and beyond, which was great.
Outside of work, I’m a creative person with a passion for graphic design. I used to run a market stall selling brownies, and I love eating out and exploring Manchester’s food scenes. Manchester is the most inventive food scene in the UK, in my opinion! I do love a hearty traditional dish like homemade pie and mash, fish and chips, stews and casseroles.
If you need any restaurant recommendations, feel free to ask me!
