Our centres provide person-centred support for older people, people living with dementia and those with a learning disability. We offer a safe, warm and welcoming place to make friends, enjoy good meals and take part in a range of social activities.
Our activities range from arts and crafts, singing, baking, drama, music appreciation, communication, sporting activities and much more. (Check out our timetables). We teach life skills and focus on health and wellbeing to promote independence and choice for you. We can also help with your personal care.
We support people with learning disabilities and older people to enjoy half or full days with us and pursue a range of volunteering, leisure and social opportunities in the community that suit their hobbies and interests.
“I really enjoy meeting my friends, especially doing drama, dancing and singing with them. I also really like to bake, garden and join in with the bingo. It is all really good fun.” – Sammy

Aspire’s arts and crafts sessions are specifically designed to allow those with any types of learning disabilities to express themselves creatively. Art is capable of relaxing and uplifting people, and our sessions do just this – providing a laid-back and informal atmosphere where people can nurture their talent and imagination.
Aspire’s performing arts programme is ideal for boosting confidence and encouraging self-expression. Working together as a group, sessions incorporate acting, singing, dance and much more. Small performances are prepared for staff, family and friends, and a number of ‘backstage’ roles are created covering everything from music to sound effects, to props and costumes. Performing arts sessions with Aspire are ideal for encouraging social interaction, teamwork, organisational skills and responsibility for important tasks.
Sports activities are great for keeping active and promoting good health. Aspire’s sports and leisure sessions cover everything from swimming to indoor football, and promote teamwork and morale as much as they inspire a healthy lifestyle. During these activities our care providers will bear in mind the various physiological needs of each individual taking part, and also provide a fun environment in which they can teach vital social skills.
Adults with learning difficulties often face additional health problems and some may need extra support services to learn how to cope with these. Our health sessions are specially designed to instruct and educate about lifestyle choices that promote good health and we also offer classes to support wellbeing too. Our in-house salon provides visitors the opportunity to either learn or enjoy hair and beauty treatments where they can practice or relax.
Aspire’s life skills sessions are designed to improve the lives of adults with learning difficulties. Our sessions provide realistic environments where people can learn and practise independent living skills that crop up in everyday life. These skills cover a broad range, incorporating preparing from employment, domestic skills, developing appropriate social skills and encouraging hobbies and other interests.
At Aspire we promote independence, choice and inclusion. We want to support people to lead full and purposeful lives and develop a range of friendships, activities and relationships in their local community. We support people with a wide range of recreational and therapeutic services and activities to meet peoples changing needs, circumstances and aspirations. We are always thinking of new ways to support people. We would love to hear from you if you have any ideas.
